Place to Stay - Top FAQ’s
Is there a promenade or beachfront in Kenton?
No. Kenton can only boast stunning natural beach fronts, where the beauty of the coastline remains unspoiled because we don’t have properties directly on the beach. Some of our accommodation still provides beautiful ocean or river views.
Are pet-friendly accommodations available?
Yes, some of our accommodation options in Kenton welcome pets. Check with providers when booking.
Is the Wi-Fi reliable in the accommodation options?
Yes, most accommodations provide reliable internet, making Kenton suitable for remote work and digital nomads. High-speed fibre is now available in Kenton and some parts of Boesmans.
How far in advance should I book accommodation?
If you’re planning to visit in the busy summer holiday (December/January) or around Easter, it’s best to book well in advance because Kenton is a popular holiday spot. Outside of peak times, a few weeks ahead is usually fine, though last-minute weekend getaways are sometimes possible. For game reserve lodges, luxury vacation villas and guest houses, advance booking is recommended year-round due to limited rooms.
What amenities can I expect?
Many accommodations in Kenton come fully equipped – think braai facilities (barbecue grills) and Wi-Fi. Larger guesthouses may have swimming pools, gardens, or direct beach access on foot. If you have specific needs (like wheelchair access, pet-friendly lodging, or baby cots), just inquire – the hosts here are very accommodating and used to welcoming travellers from all walks of life.
Are the nature reserves family-friendly?
Yes. Both Kariega and Sibuya Game Reserve welcome families and offer child-friendly safari options. Some lodges have age restrictions for big game drives (for safety and comfort), but often they provide shorter “kids’ drives” or other activities for young ones. The beach and outdoor activities around Kenton are naturally family-friendly – kids love exploring rock pools, sandboarding, and spotting wildlife from the safety of a boat.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Typical check-in is after 2 pm, and check-out is usually by 10 am, but confirm directly with your accommodation provider.
Does Kenton offer accommodation for groups?
Yes, Kenton and Boesmans provide various group-friendly options, from luxury villas to cosy self-catering cottages, suitable for families, weddings, friend groups, and digital nomads.
